'Election' star Jessica Campbell has tragically died, aged 38

Campbell's Election co-star, Reese Witherspoon, tweeted about the news of her death, writing, "So heart broken to hear this".

A healer: She had given up acting several years ago and was working as a naturopathic physician.

Wessling explained that Campbell had just finished a normal workday when she returned home to visit with her mother and aunt before she tragically collapsed in the bathroom. We were told that the aunt tried to revive her but she couldn't, and EMTs couldn't when they arrived.

Her family is still waiting on results from an autopsy conducted by the Multnomah County Medical Examiner's office in Oregon.

The Oklahoma native leaves behind a 10-year-old son Oliver and her husband of 11 years, Daniel.


The family says Jessica had been complaining of congestion and felt like she was getting a cold, but they didn't think it was COVID. A cause has not been disclosed, but Campbell reportedly had experienced flu-like symptoms the morning of her death.

She played Tammy Metzler, the younger sister of Klein's character Paul Metzler.

She ran on a cynical platform that called the election "stupid" and promised to abolish the student government.

A GoFundMe page to help with expenses, organized by Campbell's cousin Sarah Wessling, stated the Election alum died "suddenly and unexpectedly".
