James Harden joins Kevin Durant in Brooklyn in four-team trade

James Harden joins Kevin Durant in Brooklyn in four-team trade

Harden is the centerpiece of a four-team deal that also involves IN and Cleveland, according to the person who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the trade call with the National Basketball Association - which signs off on all deals - has not been completed. He also believes that the Rockets don't have what it takes to beat the defending champions.

The Houston Rockets are "sifting through" trade offers for James Harden from the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers and a final deal "could culminate quickly" according to Shams Charania and Sam Amick of The Athletic.

After the Rockets' 117-100 loss to the Lakers, Harden made some comments that continued to prove his displeasure with Houston. I love this city.

Harden, who had been pushing to be traded for months, declared that the Rockets "just aren't good enough" and that he doesn't think the situation "can be fixed", saying that he had "done everything I can" for the Rockets. "I literally have done everything that I can", said Harden. This situation is insane.

The Rockets (3-6) have now lost four of five games and are a season-worst three games below.500, while the Lakers (8-3) have won seven of eight and sit atop the Western Conference as the No. 1 seed. The team is clearly in disarray and new arrival John Wall called the situation "rocky". Houston coach Stephen Silas announced Wednesday that Harden was told not to come to practice, saying: "We felt it was best for the group and best for James".

"At the end of the day, a lot of guys here want to compete at a high level", said Wall, who is staging a comeback with the Rockets after being sidelined by injuries for the past two years.

The sad thing for Wall is that Harden was potentially over the thought of spending another season in Houston well before the two of them even started playing games together.

Several reports in the lead-up to the season said Harden was seeking a trade from the Rockets, though the guard has batted away the speculation.
