Parineeti-starrer 'The Girl On The Train' secures OTT release

The Ribhu Dasgupta directorial also stars Aditi Rao Hydari, Kirti Kulhari, Avinash Tiwary and Tota Roy Choudhury. The film is an official Hindi remake of the Hollywood thriller The Girl On The Train, which is based on Paula Hawkins' 2015 bestseller of the same name.

The Girl on the Train was initially slated to release in May 2020, but was postponed due to the coronavirus. The film's plot unfolds around an alcoholic divorcee, who has suffered abuse and gets embroiled in a murder mystery. Sooner or later, she witnesses one thing out of the peculiar, that shocks her. The film will premiere on the OTT platform on 26 February.

Speaking to the publication, Dasgupta said that he always wanted to explore the genre and that there is plenty to relate in terms of emotions and mysteries that he was able to delve into in the thriller.

The teaser which was unveiled today, gives us a sneak-peek of some exciting "thrills" from the film.

Shibasish Sarkar, group chief executive officer, Reliance Entertainment added, "The Girl on the Train marks our first film collaboration with Netflix, with many more to come. Internationally, Reliance Entertainment has partnered since 2009 with iconic film producer and director, Steven Spielberg, in the formation of DreamWorks Studios, and thereafter, Amblin Partners. The film has been produced by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies.
