Sebastian Korda's CHAMPIONSHIPS POINT — ATP Delray Beach

Chilean top seed Cristian Garin will try to win his first ATP hardcourt title at the Delray Beach Open, which on Thursday launches the tour's 2021 campaign, running concurrently with a tournament in Antalya, Turkey.

John Isner defeated Thiago Monteiro of Brazil in straight sets Saturday night in the second round of the Delray Beach Open in Florida.

"Obviously it's a step forward, and I want to be playing better and better", Hurkacz said.

In other first-round play, American Christian Harrison swept Tomas Martin Etcheverry of Argentina, 6-4, 6-2.

Britain's Andy Murray, Canadian Milos Raonic, Japan's Kei Nishikori and 2020 victor Reilly Opelka are among those who pulled out of the Florida event which begins the run up to next month's Australian Open.

Korda's opponent in the semifinals will be Cameron Norrie of Britain, who outlasted No. 8-seeded Frances Tiafoe of the United States 6-0, 3-6, 6-4. The victory was the second career ATP Tour victory for the 28-year-old Ecuadorian, who played at the University of Southern California. "I'm pretty even-keeled right now - just happy to keep playing".

Against Norrie, Korda squandered two match points serving at 5-4 and lost the game, but broke back and then easily served out the match. He said Harrison made the most of the cool afternoon weather.
