Turns out Anne Hathaway hates her name

Turns out Anne Hathaway hates her name

The "Oceans 8" actress said as much on Tuesday evening's episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon", where she told the comedian that hearing "Anne" from anyone other than her mother makes her rather uneasy.

Anne Hathaway - excuse me, Annie Hathaway - will star alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor in the HBO Max film "Locked Down", debuting Thursday. And how can we go past her emotional portrayal of Fontine in Les Miserables! During her appearance, Fallon mentioned that he knows most people call her "Annie", and asked if he should call her by that nickname instead. They are not intended and should not be thought to represent official ideas, attitudes, or policies of any agency or institution. She had to register with the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) and was required to put her name down.

And the name confusion means Annie always assumes people are "going to yell" at her when they call her Anne. "Everybody, everybody, call me Annie - please!"

"It doesn't fit, I'm an Annie. My name's Anne Hathaway.' So that seemed like the right choice, but it never occurred to me that for the rest of my life, people will call me Anne".

Hathaway is a celebrated actor who has a wide range of movie roles associated with her name.

The actress, on Tuesday, said that she was into vintage fashion and chose to wear her mom's pair of metallic gold disco shoes to school. "People call me 'Miss H, ' people call me 'Hath, ' so feel free, call me anything but Anne".

And then went on to reveal her huge crush on Leonardo DiCaprio.

The actress is a mother of two children and married to Adam Shulman.

"It's been a lot, but those are good ages to be home with your kids", she told Fallon.

She made a decision to use the moniker when she was 14 years old filming a commercial, she told Fallon.
