Two MSU men's hoops players test positive for COVID-19

The Cedar Rapids Gazette reports that Iowa's scheduled game against Michigan State tonight has been postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak at Michigan State.

According to WILX, freshman Mady Sissoko as well as sophomore Steven Izzo, who are roommates, had tested positive for the virus four days ago. But for the first time, they will have a game postponed due to COVID-19. Wednesday night, Michigan State announced an additional positive test had been received Wednesday afternoon.

The men's basketball programs of Nebraska and Penn State are now paused because of COVID-19 issues.


"I'm really disappointed, but it just goes to prove that this can affect anyone", Tom Izzo said in a statement.

The Big Ten Conference announced the rescheduling of six league men's basketball games in the coming weeks including IL hosting Penn State which now will be played this Tuesday instead of Wednesday.

The Spartans will work with the Big Ten to reschedule its games against IN and Iowa.
