Tom Cruise Will Actually Go to Outer Space For New Action Movie

Cruise's roles in the past have exposed him to high amounts of risk; he has been known to never back away from physical danger and for doing many of his own stunts. And now, he's prepared to take that belief to the limit because apparently he's working on an action movie that will not only be set in space. Outer-space wasn't long from here.

The fact that Musk, who is often the butt of jokes about how it seems like he could be a villain in a James Bond movie, is involved here (or at least his company is, so one assumes he will at least get an executive producer credit) is nearly too flawless.

The Mission Impossible action star and NASA is reportedly in talks over a movie shot in actual outer space.

"NASA is excited to work with Tom Cruise on a film aboard the SpaceStation!", NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine wrote on Twitter.

Nothing is solid yet and this actually isn't even the first time Cruise has considered shooting a movie in space.

The proposed action adventure is in its early stages, Deadline reported on Monday. "I had a contract with the Russians in 2000 to go to the International Space Station and shoot a high-end 3D documentary there". In the meantime, the next two Mission: Impossible movies were recently delayed due to the coronvirus pandemic; they're now due in theaters on November 19, 2021 and August 5, 2022.

Translation: Tom onboard the ISS is the best PR we'll ever get! Musk's involvement will be interesting to watch but first, he'll have to wrap his head around being a new dad along with his partner Grimes.
