CBS All Access to Finally Rebrand as Paramount+ on March 4

It'll launch in Latin America on March 4, with the Nordics getting Paramount Plus on March 25.

ViacomCBS is set to relaunch its CBS All Access service as Paramount Plus on March 4th, with a special event to introduce the new streamer on February 24th, the company announced today. Three years later, the streaming service finally launched its original programming with The Good Wife spinoff The Good Fight and, later in 2017, the first original Star Trek streaming series, Star Trek: Discovery.

Keep in mind ViacomCBS also owns the free (ad-supported) Pluto TV streaming service as well as the Showtime network.

ViacomCBS' Paramount Plus will launch March 4, the corporate introduced Tuesday.

Now those series, and other genre hits like The Twilight Zone and The Stand, will be making the switch to the new brand, which hopes to unite the previously existing CBS All Access programming slate with an expanded roster under the Paramount+ name. This means, mainly, that Paramount Pictures' holdings will be a part of a library that features content material from CBS and subsidiary networks BET, Comedy Central, MTV, and Nickelodeon. The Paramount Plus name could give it help it compete with (or claim an edge over) services like HBO Max, Hulu, and NBCU's Peacock, all of which promise access to a wide range of material despite naming schemes that sometimes suggest otherwise. While the app attracted considerable attention for its acclaimed "Star Trek: Picard" series past year, it has not been considered a frontrunner in the streaming race. "By bringing the valuable IP and creative capabilities from across ViacomCBS together in one product, we will deliver to consumers a compelling and differentiated service with something for everyone across news, live sports and on-demand entertainment in every genre". But, in the US, CBS All Access now costs $5.99 per month with ads or $9.99 per month ad-free.

Check out the Paramount+ placeholder webpage to get notified when the streaming service becomes available. The CBS All Access service in Canada will be rebranded to Paramount+ on March 4, 2021, and an expanded offering will be available later in the year. But we are still waiting some more details on this rebranding.
