In the styling department, the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing mark a significant step up in visual aggression over their "standard" counterparts, offering sportier styling front, side and rear.

The 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing sedan uses the latest Version 4.0 of General Motors' Magnetic Ride Control.

A functional carbon-fibre aerodynamics package can be had as an option (pictured on the red CT4-V Blackwing in this story), reducing lift by 214 per cent on the CT4, and 75 per cent on the CT5. That's an increase of 8 hp (6 kW / 8 PS) and it enables the model to accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour (0-96 km/h) in approximately 3.8 seconds. As a refresher, the RS3 has 394 hp (294 kW / 399 PS) and 354 lb-ft (480 Nm) of torque, while the CLA 45 boasts 382 hp (285 kW / 387 PS) and 354 lb-ft (480 Nm) of torque. Its twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-six produces 473 hp (353 kW / 480 PS) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque, which means it has less power than the cheaper Cadillac. The latter is with an optional 10-speed automatic transmission and magnesium paddle shifters.

The performance features don't end there as the CT4-V Blackwing comes with an electronic limited slip rear differential.

A six-speed manual transmission is available on the CT5-Blackwing.

The cars, of course, will have all sorts of other hardware to make them handle as stop as well as they accelerate, including a the latest fourth gen magnetic suspension technology, electronic LSD rear ends and very big brakes (with an optional carbon-ceramic package on the CT5).

The 2022 Blackwing fashions are constructed on Cadillac's rear-wheel-drive structure. They have racing parts such as shock tower braces, an underside shear plate and thicker rear cross members to enhance chassis rigidity, and the stiffer construction results in higher steering response and dealing with, Cadillac mentioned.

The CT4-V Blackwing gets numerous upgrades over the regular CT4-V.

Customers can also order a carbon fiber aerodynamic package that has been created to reduce lift on the track.

On the outside, both performance sedans sport new bumpers and wheels.
