US Conservative Radio Host Rush Limbaugh Dead: Family

Rush Limbaugh has died at the age of 70.

His wife, Kathryn Adams Limbaugh, announced his death on his show Wednesday.

"It is with profound sadness I must share with you directly that our beloved Rush, my wonderful husband, passed away this morning due to complications from lung cancer", Katheryn announced.

Limbaugh, an outspoken lover of cigars, had been battling stage 4 lung cancer.

He received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Donald Trump past year.

Days after revealing he had cancer, Limbaugh attended President Donald Trump's State of the Union where he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

"This is not good news, but what is good news is that he is the greatest fighter and victor that you will ever meet".

In one of his last shows, Limbaugh was criticized for repeating false claims that Joe Biden did not legitimately win the 2020 presidential election, even as Biden prepared to take the Oath of Office at his inauguration ceremony.

After he went off the air on February 2 for treatment, Rudy Giuliani tweeted a "get well" message.

Limbaugh changed the landscape of talk radio and influenced the national political landscape in a career that spanned decades. He missed only a few shows in October.

"I wasn't expected to be alive today", Limbaugh said.

The syndicated show began on just over 50 radio station, but spread like wildfire.

"Rush Limbaugh was the innovator who spoke for the Americans ignored and disrespected by the elites".
