Meghan tells Oprah Kate made her cry

It's the first of hopefully many juicy revelations Meghan made to Oprah Winfrey, as part of her much-touted tell-all interview. Nobody asked her [about] the astonishing fact that she only had one member of her family at her wedding.

Royalists expressed polite dismay, while Britain's notorious tabloids were livid - hardly a surprise, since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been vocal in blaming them for being intrusive, mendacious and downright racist.

Mr. Anson added that whatever racism Ms. Markel encountered came from social media and he said the royal household has services to help staff and family members suffering from mental health issues.

Meghan said that her son, Archie, now 1, had been denied the title of prince because there were concerns within the royal family about "about how dark his skin might be when he's born". Another wrote, "Beautifully said". "And thank God I hadn't known a lot about the family, and thank God I didn't researched about all of it".

But Meghan told Winfrey the "reverse happened". Meghan said it was Kate who made her cry before the 2018 wedding over the dresses for the flower girls.

Last month, when Buckingham Palace confirmed the couple would not return to their senior roles, it said they would not "continue with the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service".

Tennis star Serena Williams empathised with her friend Meghan in a post on Twitter, saying she knew "first hand the sexism and racism institutions and the media use to vilify women and people of color to minimize us, to break us down and demonize us".

Almost three years since her star-studded wedding in Windsor Castle, Meghan described some unidentified members of the royal household as brutal, mendacious and guilty of racist remarks.

She added: "That was relayed to me from Harry, those were conversations the family had with him, and I think it was really hard to be able to see those as compartmentalised conversations".

Meghan told Winfrey that people within the royal institution not only failed to protect her against malicious claims but lied to protect others.

The announcement was accompanied by a gorgeous black and white photograph of the pair showing Meghan with her head in Harry's lap as she cradled her baby bump. But she did not fully comprehend the pressure of being linked to the prestigious royal family.

Offering royal fans a treat, the couple revealed the gender of their second child, chiming in tandem "It's a girl!" and confirming the baby was due in "summertime".

The couple spoke openly about their choice to step back from royal duties but say they didn't intend for it to be permanent.

"But they weren't willing to tell the truth to protect me and my husband".

"I feel really let down", Harry said of his father.

Meghan also addressed reports that she made the Duchess of Cambridge cry during a rehearsal for her wedding ceremony.

The two-hour interview with the queen of United States television was the biggest royal tell-all since Harry's mother princess Diana detailed her crumbling marriage to his father Prince Charles in 1995.

Harry said he had not blindsided Queen Elizabeth, his grandmother, with news of his split with the family.

The couple married at Windsor Castle in May 2018, and their son, Archie, was born a year later.

"With security removed, who knows how long lockdown is going to be, everyone knows where we are, it's not safe, it's not secure", he said.

In another part of the broadcast, Harry also criticized the royals for failing to support them when lawmakers pointed out "colonial undertones" in the way that Meghan was covered in the British press.
