The Indiana Department of Health updated the school COVID-19 dashboard Monday where 387 new student cases were listed from October 26 to April 2, 54 new teacher cases from March 10 to April 1, and 58 new staff COVID-19 cases from March 16 to April 2.

Douglas County has a 14-day COVID-19 incidence rate of 103.92 per 100,000 people and a test positivity rate of 2.4%.

Of the active cases, 318 individuals are now hospitalized with COVID-19, 96 of whom are in intensive care.

While the number of patients in critical care with COVID-19 has hit its highest level ever and health officials have expressed concerns about growing numbers of younger people needing to be hospitalized, Dix said B.C. still has plenty of capacity in its hospitals.

This includes 2,771 cases of the B.1.1.7 (UK) variant, 51 cases of the B.1.351 (South Africa) variant, and 737 cases of the P.1 (Brazil) variant.

Centre asked the Delhi administration to immediately issue a show cause notice to VIMHANS regarding such wrong practices which violate Covid-19 vaccination norms, and seek a written explanation from them within the next 48 hours.

Combined, this results in a four-day case count of 4,040 new cases, for a total of 104,061 cases in British Columbia to date.

Phase 2 of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme, covering senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PwDs) and those with chronic diseases, will begin on April 19 in eight states, said Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

Of the confirmed variant cases to date, 2,771 are of the variant first identified in the United Kingdom, 737 of the variant first identified in Brazil and 51 of the variant first identified in South Africa.

The minister said the death rate due to Covid-19 in the state is 0.84 per cent and 96.03 per cent people are going home after recovering.

"The vaccination exercise as a tool to protect the most vulnerable population groups in the country from Covid-19 continues to be regularly reviewed and monitored at the highest level", it said.

The state is allowing all adults to sign up to receive a COVID-19 vaccine, which went into effect Monday.

"We know this virus is constantly changing and some of the new variants can spread more easily, but the same measures we know can still stop the spread and we have safe and effective vaccines on our side now", they said.

"Now is not the time to bend the rules - it's time for us to work together again to bend the curve", Henry said. "It's not easy, but it's the right thing to do for our loved ones, for our local businesses and for the communities we live in".
