Bettman: Conduct Business As Usual
The NHL has instructed its General Managers to conduct business as usual despite impending collective bargaining talks.
Commissioner Gary Bettman wrapped up three days of meetings by telling the 30 General Managers that they shouldn’t operate any differently than they currently are.
Bettman indicated that increased revenues will drive the salary cap up this summer, although it might end up going back down once a new CBA is negotiated.
The current agreement expires September 15.
Bettman says he’s waiting for the NHL Players Association to start talks on the new CBA.
