Boston Bruins Plan To Offer Contract Extension To Tuukka Rask During Season
Boston Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli says the Bruins plan to offer Tuukka Rask a contract extension during the season, reports CSN New England.
Rask signed a one-year deal during the offseason after assuming the No. 1 job when Tim Thomas elected not to play this season. Chiarelli was careful to say nothing was “imminent” and also said the trade of Thomas on Thursday has nothing to do with his goals of extending Rask. “Breaching my own policy of not discussing contracts, we will bring up talks with Tuukka at some point in this season, in hoping to extend him. I know the perception looks like one follows the other and I was waiting to pull the trigger based on a great game by Tuukka,” Chiarelli said Friday.
