Canadiens Extend Gorges
The Montreal Canadiens have signed Josh Gorges to a six-year contract extension. A source tells ESPN.com’s Pierre LeBrun the deal is worth an average salary of $3.9 million annually for a total of $23.4 million.
Acccording to the Montreal Gazette, Gorges’ own agent supports popular opinion that the Canadiens could have signed the blue-liner for less money to a long-term contract this past summer. But the club wanted to make sure Gorges was fully fit after undergoing knee surgery.
