The Dallas Stars could be shopping one of their experienced defenseman ahead of the trade deadline. Answering a reader’s question, Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News proposes the Stars could be in position to deal 26-year-old Nicklas Grossman.

“I think they will have a really big decision to make on Nicklas Grossman if they don’t have him signed by the deadline. With Philip Larsen, Brenden Dillon and Jordie Benn seemingly close, and Patrik Nemeth and Jamie Oleksiak coming to Austin next season, they may be in position to swap Grossman for a higher end offensive player.”

With Grossman earning $1.65 million this season and poised to become an unrestricted free agent in July, it may make sense for Dallas to see what they can get in return for the young defenseman.
