Dave Nonis will take over as the new General Manager and Senior Vice President of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

With the NHL regular season finally about to start, the Leafs fired Brian Burke on Wednesday. However, Burke will stay with the organization as a senior advisor. Nonis, who was Burke’s assistant, served as the GM for the Vancouver Canucks for four years after Burke was let go there as well.
