Todays Injury Notes:
Erik Erlendsson of The Tampa Tribune latest Tampa Bay Injuries:
- Ryan Malone suffered an upper-body injury while scoring his fourth goal of the season in the second period of Sunday’s game against Florida.
- Victor Hedman is being listed as day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
- Brayden Schenn (foot) will have a two-week checkup this week.
- Chris Pronger (eye) will accompany the team on their upcoming three-game road trip.
- Matt Read (upper body) is expected to be back in Philadelphia’s lineup on Wednesday night.
- Wojtek Wolski is scheduled to have his strained groin looked at on Monday in Philadelphia.
- Artem Anisimov was absent for the final 6:09 of the second period Saturday after blocking a shot with his right foot.
- Jeff Carter (fractured foot) took part in about 20 minutes of the Blue Jackets’ practice on Monday.
- Jared Boll (thumb) has been given the green light to participate in contact drills.
- Kris Russell missed Monday’s practice due to an undisclosed injury.
Injury updates:
- James Mirtle reports via Twitter Toronto Maple Leafs Tim Connolly will be out up to two weeks with an upper body injury.
- The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports Sidney Crosby (concussion) took part in Monday’s practice, but he denied media speculation that he would return on Friday.
- Arthur Staple of Newsday reports Evgeni Nabokov will start on Monday for the first time since returning from a lower body injury.
- Chuck Gormleyof CSNWashington has the latest on Mike Green (ankle) thinks he’s ready to return to the Capitals’ lineup, but he still isn’t sure if he’ll play on Tuesday. Green said. “I don’t want to be a liability on the ice. I’ve only had one really good skate. For me to jump right back in wouldn’t necessarily be a good thing. If I feel like I am (a liability) I don’t think I should play.”
