Leafs Eyed van Riemsdyk, May Target Again Over Summer
The Toronto Maple Leafs top target at the trade deadline was James van Riemsdyk, the Ottawa Sun’s Bruce Garrioch reports and up to three other teams may have been in on the bidding. That’s certainly surprising since van Riemsdyk is having foot surgery this week, but his name has been floating around the rumor mill for quite some time.
Now it’ll be interesting to see if van Riemsdyk is still in play over the summer. The Leafs may inquire, perhaps offering Luke Schenn in return, and a handful of other clubs may at least make the call to see what it’d cost to land the former number 2 overall pick.
