According to the the Tampa Bay Times, General Manager Steve Yzerman feels the next stretch of five games will determine the club’s strategy ahead of the February 27 trade deadline.

“Depending on how many points we get out of it and we see what else happens around the league, we’ll get a better indication,” Yzerman said Thursday.

Forwards Ryan MaloneDominic Moore and defenseman Pavel Kubina have been the subjects of trade rumors of late. There’s word the New York Rangers and Calgary Flames could be interested in Kubina; Malone is said to be on the Toronto Maple Leafs’, Vancouver Canucks and Los Angeles Kings’ respective radar.

Meanwhile, ESPN.com’s Pierre LeBrun believes Moore good be a good fit with the Pittsburgh Penguins, if a contract extension with the Lightning isn’t hammered out in the next little while.
