Maple Leafs, Grabovski Working On New Contract
The Toronto Maple Leafs could have forward Mikhail Grabovski secured with a new contract in the next few days. TSN reporter Mark Masters tweets Grabovski’s agent has hinted as much:
“Gary Greenstin, plans on being in Toronto next week; says at that time, ‘I believe that I will have some news for you.”
The Maple Leafs opted not to trade the UFA-to-be at the deadline, indicating their desire to keep him beyond this season; and the 28-year-old center has expressed on several occasions his desire to remain in Toronto.
It’s been rumored Grabovski’s agent has asked for an annual salary of between $5 and $5.4 million.
