Montreal Canadiens Officially Hire Rick Dudley As Assistant General Manager
The Montreal Canadiens have hired Rick Dudley as their new assistant General Manager, the team announced Friday.
Dudley, a former coach and player, was the director of player personnel with the Toronto Maple Leafs this past season.
Dudley was General Manager of the Atlanta Thrashers in 2010-11 before the team moved to Winnipeg, and the Jets chose Kevin Cheveldayoff as their new General Manager.
“The success he enjoyed at all levels throughout his career speaks volume of his expertise,” general manager Marc Bergevin said in a statement. “We are thrilled to have both Rick and Larry Carriere as assistant general managers for several seasons to come.”
Dudley, 63, also has worked as a senior executive with the Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning, Ottawa Senators and Chicago Blackhawks.
