The Carolina Hurricanes appear to have some interest in Alexander Semin, according to csnwashington.com.

“We would look at Semin on a short-term basis,” Hurricanes GM Jim Rutherford said. “We wouldn’t want to get locked in to anything, because we’ve all heard the stories about him.” Semin certainly has a reputation surrounding him and it doesn’t help that he’s coming off a disappointment campaign. He has the potential to put up point-per-game numbers, but he’s not a safe bet to do so.
