Carlo Colaiacovo has reportedly been offered a two-year deal, worth approximately $2.5 million a season, from the Detroit Red Wings.

A source told MLive.com about the proposed contract. According to the report, the Wings initially pitched a one-year pact back on July 3 but Colaiacovo wanted a three-year term, so they have come up slightly as an apparent compromise. Detroit desperately wants to add some depth to their blueline and Coloaiacovo is one of the better defensemen available on the free agent market.
