Olli Jokinen appears as though he will test unrestricted free agency on July 1, according to Calgary Sun columnist and Hockey Night in Canada Hotstove regular Eric Francis.

Calgary GM Jay Feaster didn’t confirm or deny the report due to his policy on not discussing free agents. Jokinen fizzled down the stretch, likely because of an abdominal injury that required surgery in May, but he had a strong season with the Flames in 2011-12. He tallied 23 goals and 61 points in 82 games. Jokinen would make a good target for any club seeking a top-six center.
