NHL Free Agency: Shane Doan Extends Deadline For Phoenix Coyotes To Friday
As the Phoenix Coyotes future in Arizona remains somewhat cloudy, so, too, does the future of Shane Doan. The three-year-old Coyotes ownership saga seems nearly incapable of a resolution. It appears very unlikely the NHL will move the Coyotes this offseason to another market like Seattle or Quebec City.
Time would be very short for a relocation and boosters of the Coyotes sale say Jamison is trying to finalize a deal. Free agent Coyotes captain Shane Doan has given Jamison until Friday to try to get a deal done, or close to done. If that doesn’t happen, the Coyotes most popular player will narrow his list of new teams he might sign with this offseason.
TVA Sports is reporting that Shane Doan will meet with the Montreal Canadiens next week. “Doan has been in discussions with Canadiens this week and he has told his agent that he wanted to make a visit,” a source close to the situation told TVA Sports Tuesday.
