NHL Injury Notes: Staal, Legwand, Laakso, Zidlicky, Hordichuk
The latest injury news from around the league:
- There is some moderately good news for the New York Rangers in regards to Marc Staal. According to The New York Post, the defenseman has reportedly been given the green light to start “light physical activity” following his visit with concussion specialist Dr. Robert Cantu. However, there’s still no indication as to when the 24-year-old will be able to return this season, if at all.
- The Nashville Tennessean reports David Legwand (upper body) will miss Thursday and Saturday’s games.
- The Nashville Tennessean reports Teemu Laakso (back) will miss Thursday’s game against Toronto.
- The Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune reports that Marek Zidlicky (head) will not play in Thursday’s contest. Zidlicky might have suffered a concussion when he was hit by Columbus’ Derek Dorsett on Tuesday. He hasn’t had a concussion test yet, but he is suffering from headacahes.
- The Edmonton Sun reports that Darcy Hordichuk (knee) is getting close to his return to the Oilers’ lineup.
