As the NHL labor negotiations continued, the NHL discussed its revised revenue sharing proposal and also handed over 76,000 pages of paperwork to the NHL Players Association after it asked for more financial information, reports The Globe and Mail.

Commissioner Gary Bettman said the revenue sharing proposal was “quite similar” to the current system, according to Jeff Z. Klein of the New York Times. If that’s the case, that won’t work for the NHLPA, which will demand greater revenue sharing between the NHL’s richer and poorer teams.
“We haven’t evaluated the changes from current revenue sharing to determine whether we think it’s the appropriate thing to do or if it misses the mark in some respect,” NHLPA executive director Donald Fehr said. Talks will continue Wednesday and while Bettman believes there is enough time to get a deal done, Fehr said there’s “no magic date” and the players are willing to work even after the Collective Bargaining Agreement expires on September 15th.
