David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period claims it “looks like the Nashville Predators are close to signing Mike Fisher to a contract extension“. Fisher is entering the final season of his current five-year, $21-million dollar deal.

With the 32-year-old locked in, the Predators would seem to be in solid shape at the center position for the next couple of seasons, at any rate. While David Legwand is signed until 2014, Colin Wilson and Paul Gaustad are inked through 2015 and 2016, respectively.
