Renaud P Lavoie is reporting via Twitter that the New Jersey Devils and Martin Brodeur have agreed to a two-year contract.

Unable to lock down Brodeur before he hit free agency and with several teams expressing interest in him on Day One, the Devils were forced to make a more aggressive play to keep him. He will be 42 when the contract expires and be able to hang up his skates with the team he’s spent his entire career with.
