Brad Stuart has inked a three-year contract with the San Jose Sharks.

Stuart will reportedly earn an average of $3.6 million per season. That would represent a mild pay cut from his previous annual salary of $3,750,000. He might have gotten more on the open market, but Stuart wanted to play in California to be closer to his family. The Detroit Red Wings traded his negotiating rights to San Jose for a conditional seventh-round pick in 2014 and the rights to Andrew Murray.
