The Vancouver Canucks reached an agreement with Cory Schneider on a three-year contract worth $12 million.

A fair deal for both sides. Schneider, a restricted free agent, earned $900,000 last season while giving the Canucks the grounds for making him the full-time number one in net, as he went 20-8-1 with a 1.96 goals-against average and .937 save percentage.
This deal can’t become official until July 1, but with Roberto Luongo under contract, the Canucks goalies will earn a combined $9.2 million next season. Of course, it seems like only a matter of time before general manager Mike Gillis finds an adequate trade partner to flip Luongo to.
