Bob McKenzie is reporting that the Vancouver Canucks have sign Jason Garrison to a six-year $27.6 million dollar contract.

The 27-year-old set career-highs with 16 goals and 17 assists in 77 games with the Florida Panthers in 2011-12.

Originally signed as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Minnesota-Duluth by the Panthers in 2008, Garrison has scored 23 goals and 36 assists in 190 career games.

He set the Panthers single-season record for goals by a defenceman this past season.
