With defenseman Adam McQuaid (shoulder injury) out for up to a month, the Boston Bruins may want to bring in another blue-line body via trade. Fluto Shinzawa of the Boston Globe proposes defensive depth can be added to the list of “wants” that also includes a left-shot top-four defenseman and a scoring winger. Now whether the Bruins are able to do much of anything before the trade deadline is another story altogether.

Outside of the Florida Panthers in the East, no team appears willing to throw in the playoff towel quite yet. And the lack of sellers makes for a very limited market. There’s only so much Filip Kuba to go around. Until a few more teams tumble out of realistic contention Colorado AvalancheCalgary FlamesBuffalo Sabres competitive clubs like the Bruins will have very few trade options.
