The Calgary Flames keep receiving calls about defenseman Jay Bouwmeester, according to the TheFourthPeriod.com.

Interest in Bouwmeester increased after prized free agent Ryan Suter signed with Minnesota last week. Bouwmeester, 28, has a no-trade clause, but could be tempted to waive it for a contender like the Detroit Red Wings, St. Louis Blues or Philadelphia Flyers. Each of those teams, as well as Edmonton Oilers and Carolina Hurricanes, have inquired about the veteran’s availability, the report says.

The Flames are looking for a top-six forward in return for Bouwmeester, who became expendable when Calgary landed Dennis Wideman.
