The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports that the Toronto Maple Leafs, Carolina Hurricanes, Edmonton Oilers and Minnesota Wild might all be interested in trading for Jordan Staal.

With Staal scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2013, the Penguins might trade him before the season begins. Re-signing him on top of Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby would be difficult. It is still early so expect more teams beyond the four teams listed above to emerge as suitors for Staal’s services.
However, given that any club getting him will probably have to give him a substantial raise after the 2012-13 season or risk losing him, his trade value might not be as high as some suspect. Staal has also stated that if he is traded he’d prefer to go to the Carolina Hurricanes to play with this brother.
