The Philadelphia Flyers and Nashville Predators could be working on a trade for Shea Weber.

Philadelphia general manager Paul Holmgren and Nashville general manager David Poile have spoken “just once,” since the defenseman signed the massive 14-year, $110 million offer sheet last Wednesday, according to Sam Carchidi of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The thinking is that a trade could be on the horizon due to the fact that if Poile was planning to match the offer, he would not need to be talking to his counterpart at all. Other than the one conversation, Carchidi’s source says, “It has been strangely quiet.” The Preds have until 11:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday to make their decision.
