Zach Parise has told reporters he won’t talk about his contract. But reporters asked Parise again, and he told the Newark Star-Ledger, “Nothing has changed and I’ve told our reporters that they can stop asking questions about it because I’m done talking about it.”

By saying nothing has changed Parise has indicated that no real progress on  a contract has taken place and perhaps there won’t be any real progress until the offseason. His recently found chemistry with Patrik Elias and Ilya Kovalchuck might factor into his decision to stay, but there are many who suspect Parise will want to test free agency since the Devils will likely have ownership issues moving forward.

New Jersey Devils beat writer for The Record Tom Gulitti says “I don’t know why anyone thinks that Zach Parise is being traded to Minnesota or anywhere. He’s not being traded before deadline.”
