Patrick Roy As Montreal Canadiens Coach?
Patrick Roy is currently serving as the QMJHL Quebec Remparts’ head coach. On Saturday, Montreal fired Jacques Martin and gave Randy Cunneyworth the job on an interim basis. Cunneyworth is expected to finish the season with the Canadiens, but Montreal will probably look into different options over the offseason. Roy might seem like an awkward choice given the heated nature of his departure from the Canadiens, but the past is the past. Roy spoke with Sportsnet.ca saying “Since my number was retired I’ve reconnected with the organization and the Canadiens fans, When I see people continuously mentioning my name as candidate to become the next head coach, it’s very flattering.”
What do you think? Is Patrick Roy a viable choice to take over as the next Montreal Canadiens head coach?
