- Hockey Night in Canada’s Elliotte Friedman thinks Vancouver Canucks General Manager Mike Gillis might get a contract extension this week.
- Hockey Night in Canada’s Elliotte Friedman says the Pittsburgh Penguins will do everything to keep Jordan Staal but it’s also worth nothing that he’s going to his unrestricted free agency next summer so, if Staal isn’t happy with the way he’s used this season, he could easily bolt.
- The Boston Globe reports that Tyler Seguin will likely undergo surgery to repair a detached tendon in his left hand.
