Quick Hits: Knuble,Selanne, McDonald, Heritage Classic Game
Quick hits and trade rumors from around the league.
- The Capitals sat Mike Knuble as a healthy scratch in last night’s matchup with Winnipeg. Chuck Gormley of CSNWashington points out, that could be viewed as an indication that the team is hoping to deal him. By sitting a player with his tenure, there’s a risk of angering him or worse yet dividing the locker room. Knowing that was a possibility, the Caps may have already been open to the prospect of swapping him.
- The surging Ducks have moved to just 10 points outside the final playoff spot in the West, which means Teemu Selanne has buried any thoughts of a trade. Selanne needs to approve a trade from the Ducks and with the team catching up to that 8th playoff spot it seems unlikely that he’ll abandon ship.
- St. Louis Blues forward Andy McDonald could return from a concussion as early as Sunday night at home against the San Jose Sharks.
- TSN.ca reports The NHL is reportedly scouting Winnipeg’s new Investors Field as a possible site for a potential outdoor Heritage Classic game.
