• Columbus Dispatch reports that there has been no decision made as to whether interim coach Todd Richards will coach the Columbus Blue Jackets next season. General Manager Scott Howson said that the organization is still ‘evaluating’ the situation. A decision is expected by the end of May.
  • The Minnesota Wild have acquired the New Jersey Devils third round pick in 2013 NHL Entry Draft with New Jersey advancing to the Eastern Conference Final according to the Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune. The pick was conditional on New Jersey advancing to the final when the Wild dealt Marek Zidlicky to the Devils at the deadline.
  • Jakub Voracek will become a restricted free agent this summer. He earned $2.25 million this past season and could be line for pay raise after a strong 2011-12 campaign. In his first year with the Flyers, Voracek registered a career-high of 18 goals and produced 49 points in 78 contests.
  • Derek Dorsett will become a restricted free agent on July 1 if the Columbus Blue Jackets do not re-sign him sooner.  He led the NHL in penalty minutes with 235 and scored12 goals.
  • Derek MacKenzie is reportedly “feeling good” and hoping to re-sign with the Columbus Blue Jackets before becoming an unrestricted free agent this summer. According to Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch,  the Blue Jackets want to extend the center’s contract as well.
