Today’s quick hits from around the league:
- The Bergen Record reports that Aaron Voros has agreed to a professional tryout with the Rangers’ AHL affiliate in Connecticut.
- Chip Alexander at Canes Now reported Coach Paul Maurice said on Tuesday that is nothing new regarding Joni Pitkanen‘s status from a lower-body injury. Pitkanen is expected to miss at least one week with the ailment.
- Boston Globe reported Brad Marchand responded after being benched for taking a bad penalty in Tuesday’s win over New Jersey. He returned to score his sixth goal of the year just six seconds into the third frame. “The character that he has, he didn’t say a word,” coach Claude Julien said. “That’s what I like about Brad. He takes responsibility. When he’s given a chance, he answers properly.”
- Tom Gulitti reported via twitter that Peter DeBoer said that Ilya Kovalchuk was “real close” to playing on Tuesday and Kovalchuk said he’ll probably play on Wednesday.
- Vancouver Canucks report The Vancouver Canucks insist that Roberto Luongo‘s injury is “nothing serious” but Cory Schneider is expected to start on November 16.
