Roberto Luongo Wants Out Of Vancouver
Recently-extended head coach of the Vancouver Canucks says that goaltender Roberto Luongo most certainly does want the chance to play somewhere else. Alain Vigneault said as much (in French) speaking with TVA Sports on Wednesday.
“First of all, (a trade) is what he wants right now,” Vigneault said, as relayed by the Vancouver Sun. “What we need to do is what’s best for our organization and our team. We have to look at what’s best for our organization and Roberto.”
Teams rumored to be interested in dealing for the All-Star netminder include the Toronto Maple Leafs, Florida Panthers, New Jersey Devils, and Chicago Blackhawks. It’s believed the 33-year-old would be willing to waive his no-trade clause for any of the four.
