The St. Louis Blues will be in the hunt for a top-four defenseman during the unrestricted free agency period.

The Blues are believed to be interested in Jason Garrison, but they also might fill that need via a trade. Garrison is reportedly seeking a five-year/$25 million contract after breaking out with 33 points in 77 games last season. That cap hit might end up hurting the team that signs him, but given how tough it is to find a potential top-four defenseman on the unrestricted free agency market, it would not be surprising if his demands are met.
