NHL Signing: Washington Capitals Sign Mike Green To Three-Year Contract Extension

The Washington Capitals have re-signed defenseman Mike Green to a three-year, $18.25 million contract extension, vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today. Erik Karlsson Fine $2,500 For Slash On Sean Bergenheim

Ottawa Senators defenseman Erik Karlsson has been fined $2,500, the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for slashing Florida Panthers forward Sean Bergenheim on Sunday, March 4,  the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today. The fine money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
