NHL Trade: Carolina Hurricanes Trade Jamie McBain To Buffalo Sabres

The Buffalo Sabres received Jamie McBain from the Carolina Hurricanes second-round pick for Andrej Sekera. McBain is a little bit younger (25 vs. 27) and probably has a better offensive upside with recent 27 and 32-point seasons. He also has a slight size advantage. Still, McBain’s eight-point season in 2013 might be a cause for concern.

NHL Signings: Jamie McBain, Bob Sanguinetti, Nicolas Blanchard, Alexander Sulzer, Jani Hakanpaa

NHL signings from around the league: The Carolina Hurricanes have confirmed that Jamie McBain’s newly inked two-year deal is worth $3.6 million. McBain will make $1.7 million next season and $1.9 million in 2013-14.  McBain would have become a restricted free agent this summer.
