Contract negotiations between Corey Perry and the Anaheim Ducks should pick up later this month, according to TheFourthPeriod.com.

Perry is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on July 5, and Ducks GM Bob Murray has said that resigning the 27-year-old forward is a priority. Perry’s agent tells the magazine’s website that while no discussions about his client’s future have taken place yet, the sides will get together soon.

If they can’t come to an agreement quickly, though, don’t be surprised if Perry, who has struggled so far this season, is dangled before the April 3 trade deadline.
