By most accounts, it appears Tomas Holmstrom is leaning toward retirement. The Detroit News reports the Detroit Red Wings expect the ultimate decision from the 39-year-old forward before September.

“We remain in contact,” Wings GM Ken Holland said. “We expect Homer to make a decision before the end of the month.”

In reality, the Wings don’t have a spot up front open up front for Holmstrom. And the banged-up veteran has zero interest in playing for any other NHL squad.
