Trade Rumors: Lightning, O’Brien, Rangers, Nabokov
- With Marc-Andre Bergeron set to return, giving the Tampa Bay Lightning eight healthy defensemen, Erik Erlendsson of the Tampa Tribune writes the recall of blue liner Evan Oberg has led to speculation that a deal may be in the works.
- According to the Denver Post, defenseman Shane O’Brien is one player on the Colorado Avalanche who could hear his name in rumors as the trade deadline approaches. O’Brien is slated to become an unrestricted free agent at season’s end.
- After Tuesday’s shutout loss to the New Jersey Devils, Mark Everson of the New York Post writes the New York Rangers should be in the market for a quarterback on the power play
- Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun claimed he’s willing to “bet” goaltender Evgeni Nabokov “goes to Chicago as a starter.”
